My story
(2015)
The digital world completely captured my interest—the ability to connect and exchange value with people worldwide felt so liberating and empowering. In the back of my mind, I always knew I wanted to do something in this space. That’s when I started teaching myself how to code, though at a slow pace.
(2017)
But honestly, I never felt comfortable in college from day one. I’ve always been more of a self-learner, someone who likes to figure things out independently. Those three years were more of an experimental phase where I tried everything but didn’t really achieve anything significant. During this time, I:
- Interned as an SEO marketer.
- Interned as a social media marketer.
- Freelanced as a copywriter.
- Interned as a web developer.
- Joined a college club where we worked with real clients designing and building WordPress websites (I did this for about a year).
- Got into affiliate marketing and even built a website selling courses for affiliate commissions. That project failed miserably, making zero sales.
(2020)
I worked in the textile industry as a sales representative and did logistics work. But even during that time, I kept thinking about how to make my way back into the digital space. This was also when COVID hit hard, and life slowed down significantly.
(2021)
Initially, I aimed to become a brand designer. Something about turning concepts into visual identities and blending art with business just clicked for me. I took it seriously—taught myself Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and even did some freelance gigs for a few months. But eventually, I stopped because I lacked direction and structure.
(2022)
At some point, you realize you have to commit to one thing and give it your all. For me, that was UX/UI design. What drew me to it was:
- Thinking from different perspectives and navigating complexity
- Creating things that connect with people.
- Bringing soul into the ever-growing tech industry.
I started by working with a few local design agencies (a few months at each) and later tried freelancing. After working on various projects, I decided to niche down and focus on startups.
(2023)
In late 2023, I joined Cynoia as a designer and got promoted to Lead Designer after just one month. At Cynoia, I worked on building a product from scratch (more details in Cynoia's case study). At the time, I worked at The Dot, an innovation hub housing +50 startups, including Cynoia. Being around so many founders and product teams got me even more hooked on startup culture. Alongside that, I did some consulting and freelance gigs, mostly helping fellow entrepreneurs succeed.
(2025)
When I first started out, my big goal was to eventually start my own agency. But now, I’ve realized that my true passion lies in shipping quality products. Over time, my vision has shifted. Instead of running an agency, I’m now focused on being a Design Partner for Startups — helping founders bring their visions to life in the best possible way.

The official “About me”

Hello, my name is Ahmed Amir Azouzi. I am a Product Designer, problem solver, and visual perfectionist. I enjoy working with startups and product founders because I like to immerse myself in the entire process rather than merely handing over half-baked concepts.
I design for impact, and I naturally strive to ship strategic, meaningful, user-friendly, developer-friendly, and visually appealing designs.
Before transitioning to product design, I held several roles in web development, digital marketing, and graphic design, which gave me an open mind and a profound understanding of the multilayered nature of business.
For nearly 3 years, I’ve worked with startups across diverse industries — including SaaS, B2B, B2C, AI, collaboration tools, fintech, gaming, and education — designing and delivering web and mobile applications, design systems, websites, and brand identities.
Right now, I work as the Design Lead at Cynoia, leveraging close to $1M in funding to build and scale a SaaS collaboration product from the ground up.
